My Concept for the info graphics project is to create a fun interactive illustration of some of the Coolest Ferris Wheels throughout the world. This graphic could allow people to take a look at visiting a city from a little bit of a different perspective. The graphic will be an illustration of different ferris wheels around the world and upon scrolling over or clicking on the illustration it will give you both a night photo and a day photo of the actual setting of each ferris wheel. Here is some of my research and concept drawings on the topic.

Project 2: Info Graphics
When thinking about info graphics, there were several ideas that came to mind. One of these ideas was creating a simple bartenders guide to the basic drinks and glasses you utilize as a bartender. Then my mind began to race to a little more complexity and fun, when I begin to think of making an info graphic for world travelers. Upon that thought I began to look towards travel magazines such as "National Geographic" and "Travel and Leisure." I thought about, what are some of the best ways to view cities you travel to, and the answer is Ferris Wheels.

Final Editorial Illustration
After many hours of work in Adobe Illustrator, this is my final editorial illustration for project 1. My illustration embraces the concept of the article I discovered in the LA Times about raising the minimum wage in California. The illustration contains both the message of raising the minimum wage as well as the location (of California) to show the setting of where the article takes place.
Concept Revisions
After thinking a little further about the editorial illustration project, I made a few final revisions with my concept sketches and then begin to digitalize the ideas. This is some of my process work, to complete the illustration project for raising the minimum wage in California.

concept drawings
These are some of my concept drawings and ideas for an editorial illustration graphic, involving raising the minimum wage in California, from $8 an hour to $10 an hour. This topic really hits home for me seeing as my family is still back home in California.

Inspirational Illustrators
Sanna Annukka
-
Sanna Annukka, born in Brighton, England,
revolutionized her own simplistic style of graphic design and illustration. Her
work is an expression of patterns, often highlighting her profound interest in
traditional cultures and mythology. Furthermore, her greatest cultural interest
are the Sami people of Lapland. She has also created graphics for companies
such as Apple/Macintosh.
Ben Lawson
-
Ben Lawson’s style is highlighted with
simplicity because he often does fine line work consisting of only one color,
at most two. He is both an artist and engineer, growing up in the United
Kingdom. Upon graduating from Bristol University with a physics degree, he
began to create graphic campaigns/designs. Many of these graphics included some
sort of scientific insight or imagination.
Skinner
-
Last but not least, a self taught artist from
the get go, Skinner grew up in the greater bay area as well as spending some
time in Sacramento, California which happens to be my home town. His work is
highly influenced by 80’s pop culture as far as the bright color schemes and
intricate patterns. Furthermore, Skinner’s illustration style includes dungeons
and dragons, myths, violence and metal music ideas and images. His
illustrations have grown to be known throughout the world, within many
magazines and several different companies from snowboarding – to – eye wear – to
– apparel.

Week 1 Editorial Project
Week 1 Computer Drawing:
This week we were assigned to begin research on editorial columns. The project entailed us finding interesting editorial columns, upon which we were to begin brainstorming illustrations to explain these columns. After further research, I have found a couple that interested me throughout different editorial sources.
The "Crack Down on Drunken Boaters" has begun throughout America. Americans have already grown to understand the severity of drinking and driving, however, many feel as if this is not the case when considering drinking and boating. Furthermore, drinking and operating any vehicle for that matter is illegal, so therefore, why should drinking and boating be an exception.

Californians are fighting to "Raise the Minimum Wage," due to the fact that the minimum wage is completely insufficient for a single adult, let alone a single parent, to survive and support for themselves or there family in anyway. The proposed minimum wage which would help low income people out of these situations is $10 per hour.

Recently, at the Missouri rodeo, a rodeo clown came into the ring and put on a mask with the face of President Barrack Obama in order to see the crowds reaction. He went on to ask the crowd if they wanted to see him run down by the bull or not. There was a mixture of various reactions, whatever the case however, this small action resulted in headline news.
